1962 AUSTRALIA SILVER FLORIN QUEEN ELIZABETH II KANGAROO & EMU
Australian heritage captured in silvera classic from the final years of pre-decimal coinage!
This 1962 Australian florin, valued at two shillings, combines Queen Elizabeth IIs youthful portrait with the distinctive Australian coat of arms.
The obverse features Mary Gillicks laureate portrait of the Queen facing right. The reverse displays a crowned shield supported by a kangaroo and emu, framed by native foliage, with FLORIN above and 1962 AUSTRALIA below.
Struck at the Melbourne Mint in 50% silver, this coin is an appealing reminder of Australias pounds, shillings and pence era.
Condition: Circulated, with visible wear, scratches and surface marks. The Queens hair retains detail, while the crown, shield, kangaroo and emu remain clearly identifiable. Please inspect both photographs for the exact condition.
A handsome addition to an Australian date collection, a Commonwealth collection or a selection of world silver coins.
