A very attractive 1964 South African 50 Cent silver coin, featuring the iconic Springbok reverse and the impressive portrait of Jan van Riebeeck on the obverse.

This was part of South Africas early decimal coinage and retains the magnificent large crown-sized format of the earlier Five Shillings. The bilingual national motto EENDRAG MAAK MAG UNITY IS STRENGTH surrounds the detailed Van Riebeeck portrait.
