These are two Angolan Escudo banknotes issued in 1972 by the Banco de Angola.

  • The top note is a 20 Escudos banknote, serial number MR 22749.
  • The bottom note is a 50 Escudos banknote, serial number OH 70899.
  • Both feature a portrait of Marshal António Óscar de Fragoso Carmona, who was the 11th President of Portugal.
  • The currency was in use in Angola between 1958 and 1977, before the Kwanza was introduced.
  • The notes were printed by De la Rue, London.
