The Original Securing Chin Strap and Inner Plastic Doibie are PRESENT & intact, the lining suspension is in good shape. The name of an SADF Commissioned Officer is written in what appears to be blue ball-point pen on the Chin Strap, as follows :

"MAJ. STRYDOM" - denoting the details of the Helmet's original owner.

The M63 Steel Helmet/ Staal Dak was issued to all ranks of the former South African Defence Force , when necessary - for active duty operations & for live fire training exercises.
