Wine of Origin Stellenbosch

Rustenberg is one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa, having produced wines for over three centuries. Owned by the Barlow family, the vineyards situated on the temperate slopes of the Simonberg, with a view overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay, it has long been regarded as one of the Capes Great Growth.

The grapes are hand chosen in the vineyard prior to a final selection in the cellar. Vinfication follows time-honoured traditional methods

The age of the wines, stringent selection of grapes both in the vineyard and again at the crusher, carefully controlled fermentation and a generous compliment of French barrel maturation, all contribute to the remarkable quality of this wine.

The vigilant eye of the cellar master and a policy of minimum interference during the further period of barrel and bottle maturation ensures that when this wine with its distinctively gold edged label reaches the market, it represents of the best that Rustenberg can offer.
