2023South African Short Proof 6 Coin SetThe fourth decimal coin series became legal tender on 1 January 2023. This coin series is based on the theme of deep ecology, an ecological philosophy that considers humankind as an integral part of its environment. As with the previous coin series, all of South Africas 11 official languages are used on the fourth decimal coin series. On the R1 coin only one language is used, while three languages appear on the R5 coin and two on the R2, 50c, 20c and 10c coins. To ensure the use of all 11 languages, the coins will be minted over a set period on a rotational system basis. SOURCE: SA Mint
