ANGLO BOER WAR (MEDAL): Correctly named the Anglo-Boere Oorlog Medal, this was awarded by the Union Government to officers and men of the former Boer republics for loyal service in the war against the British. To qualify for the medal proof had to be provided that they had fought against the British without surrendering or taking parole, or the oath of allegience prior to May 31, 1902.
DEKORATIE VOOR TROUWE DIENST: This medal was awarded by the Union of South Africa to officers of the two former Boer republics for distinguished service during the second Boer War of 1899 to 1902.
