EXTREMELY SCARCE MEDAL!!!

NO FURTHER RESEARCH DONE YET.

The engraving is very difficult to read, however, the number appears to be 3 and thereafter S Tyce, but we could be wrong.

QUEEN SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL:  Because of the large number of British and imperial forces which took part and the numerous campaign and battle clasps awarded, this is one of the most popular and closely studied of all medals, offering immense scope to the collector.  A total of 178 000 medals were awarded.

NO CLASPS WERE ISSUED FOR THESE MEDALS - the recipients of these medals did not actually take part in any confrontations, but served as workers, etc.  The recipients were also mostly Indians.

THIS MEDAL DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN RENAMED.
