6.16ct Peruvian Opal - Beautiful!

 

Peruvian Blue Opal. 20 x 12mm oval flat cabochon. 6.16carats.  (genuine Blue/green Opal from Peru. This is a natural stone and it is the real color.) No dye or treatments of any kind. Beautiful blue/green color .  As shown on picture the gem has brown and black markings and lines. Peruvian Opal have a tendency to dry ( they contain water and also a lot of water is used during cutting so they do not "overheat" and break). This stone has been held for 6 months to allow it to cure. The color is now stable and should not change.

Be aware that Opals do not like ultrasonic cleaner and excessive heat. Be sure to remind your jeweller.
