Melon 'Alvaro' is one of the few varieties that will ripen fully outdoors. This 'charentais' type of cantaloupe melon bears smooth-skinned, pale yellow fruits with distinctive green stripes and are richly aromatic. The salmon orange flesh is tender and juicy with a wonderfully sweet flavour. Each fruit weighs up to 500g (1lb) at maturity
