EXTREMELY RARE -  20.09 CARAT BI COLOUR DEEP BLUE/GREEN JAVA OBSIDIAN.

JAVA - INDONESIA

100% Natural & Totally Untreated

This remarkable, and very rare gem originated in Java, Indonesia.

It is extremely rare to find a true bi colour Obsidian, and this stunning example is a true bi colour (deep blue/green).

It would make a very beautiful, and utterly unique pendant.

The clarity of this extremely scarce gem is VVS, and the carat weight, a huge, and very impressive, 20.09 Carats.

The dimensions are: 17.8 x 17.8 x 11.4mm.

OBSIDIAN

Obsidian is naturally formed. It is created when molten lava cools too quickly to crystallize and, instead, forms amorphous masses of silica. Obsidian can occur naturally in black, brown, grey, and sometimes red, blue, and green shades.

Obsidian is considered a semiprecious gem in spite of the fact that it is actually glass that forms during the rapid cooling of volcanic lava. The stone is most often black in color, however, it has also been found in clear form as well as in the colors of mahogany brown, silver gray, blue, rare Paraiba green, yellow, orange, and red. These colors form when hematite deposits are present within the gem.
