Cypriot era.
ABOUT THIS RING | |
This beautifully preserved, very large and weighty ancient Cypriot ring was most definitely the possession of a male. Its band is thick and widens even more at the shoulders. Upon each side of its shoulders are carvings of symbols. Its bezel is raised and almost square in shape and inscribed with the most intricately carved ancient Cypriot script that is still slightly visible but worn due to extensive use and being buried in the earth for over two millennia. The ring has a beautiful golden-hued bronze. This handsome ring makes for a bold and eye-catching adornment – a wonderful treasure and perfectly wearable today. A rare opportunity to own one of these ancient jewelry pieces that was lost in time for so many hundreds of years. A facinating and unique bond from the present to the ancient past. Please don't expect your item to be in perfect condition. Though it will still be perfectly wearable and in remarkable condition for it's age, it must be remembered that it has been subjected to the elements for hundreds if not thousands of years. Most items will still retain their original patina unless stated as "cleaned". |
