This Award was instituted by President Nelson Mandela , to recognize 20 years of Service rendered by former members of the Pan Africanist Congress Armed Wing - during the Armed Struggle prior to the 1994 Democratic Elections. This Medal is exceptionally difficult to obtain and retains a Low Issue Number of : 077 stamped on the reverse ; along with a South African Mint Silver Hallmark.
