About Joy Melinda Clark
Joy Clark was born in Namibia in 1958. Her favorite medium is oil paint, but she enjoys acrylic paint due to the texture achieved with palette knife and impasto technique. She has partaken in a number of Group Exhibitions in Port Shepstone, Richards Bay, Kwambonambi (KZN), Durban and Port Elizabeth, and has won a number of prizes in various shows, for her mohair bears, paintings and quilts.
Whether painting or quilting, she is on a continuous path of experimenting with color and technique. Joy is influenced by the sound of the sea & the visual impact of the beauty of her surroundings in Kini Bay in the Eastern Cape where she lives. She enjoys painting Still Life, Flower Studies, Landscape, Seascapes and does Portraits on Commission (from photographs). Her aim in all things is - 'do what you do well'.
Almost all her paintings done between 2009 and 2019 have been sold in South Africa and a few have gone to Overseas buyers. On the Bidorbuy site she has a long list of satisfied buyers.
