An EXCELLENT example of a Boer War, 1899/1900 Armed Boer Kommando Large Black/White Photograph. This piece appears to be in a well-preserved state, with gloss surface finish remaining intact. Photograph field of view is detailed and depicts a Boer Kommando of 16 x Burghers posing in review. The members of the outfit are Armed with 7.92mm German K98 Mauser Rifles & Leather Bandoliers.
Photography amongst Boer Kommando Members was exceptionally rare , with images largely captured before the outbreak of major hostilities. A privately Commissioned image , such as this- is exceptionally difficult to obtain.
