COMPOSITION: .925 Sterling Silver
An excellent example of ORIGINAL period Trench Art Jewellery, as produced during the Anglo-Boer War (1899 - 1902) by a serving member of 1st Battalion The Welsh Regiment. This Sweetheart Bracelet comprises of 8 x English 3D Coins , 1 x Z.A.R 3D Coin & 1 x English 6D Coin.
Each piece of Silver has been hand engraved, with two prominent markings being that of "LLINVI" - the military garrison town of the 1st Battalion , as well as "NEW YEAR 1902" - when the Welsh were performing Blockhouse Duty near Pretoria. The Regiment were involved in multiple engagements during the conflict , namely the Battles of Paardeberg and Driefontein - conducting themselves well but suffering heavy losses.
