An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1960s SADF Parachute Battalion Camouflage Utility Axe-Head. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Camouflage paint Relief on surface. Approximately 45 % of original paint present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. No Haft - only the Steel Axe-Head is evident.
This piece would have been issued to members of the Parachute Battalion, for use in operational settings up until the early 1970s. A detachable wooden Haft would have been used in conjunction.
The ideal addition to any SADF/ SWATF Border War Era kit collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
