This piece is in a GOOD, USED CONDITION- All parts appear to be present and Steel Blade is in good order. Suede/ Leather Sheath remains functional. Bayonet Blade is quite sharp & retains a cutting edge. Age-related Surface wear evident.

An EXCELLENT example of a Border War, 1980s AK47 Bayonet SADF Troopie Conversion Knife with Leather Sheath. This piece appears to be in a GOOD/USED state , with Blade intact & secure handle. The original bakelite handle has been removed & replaced with a contoured leather wrap handle for better fit/comfort. The Blade has been subject to sharpening and must be handled with care. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface.
This piece was obtained amongst a Lot of South African Defence Force militaria, and appears to be a pick-up item that was altered to suit the needs of the individual soldier.
The ideal addition to any 1980s Border War / SADF Bayonet collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
