The piece is in an GOOD, USED CONDITION- Camouflage Graphic Design Relief is present and detailed. Helmet remains in a Good State and has been utilised. Signs of Wear evident due to handling. Leather liner is present- NO CHIN STRAP. Markings evident on Helmet rear flange.

An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1980s Captured  Cuban M51 Steel Helmet w/ Leather Liner. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Olive Green Camouflage Relief on  obverse. Liner is present with Steel band . Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Chin strap is no longer present- expired due to age/ wear. Foundry markings evident. 

This piece was obtained by a former member of the SADF, during the 1980s in the region of Southern Angola.  Military Aid , of this variety was often supplied to Cuban Forces by East Bloc Nations.

The ideal addition to any SADF/  Border War Era  Helmet collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
