An EXCELLENT example of a Pre-1980  SADF 31 Battalion Ceramic Regimental Tankard. This piece remains in a  good state of preservation and Unit Insignia is visible. The Unit was founded in 1974 as 'Alpha Group' and consisted of San soldiers recruited from Angola & Namibia after the collapse of Portuguese rule. Along with their sister Unit, 32 Battalion-   the members of 31 Battalion served in Operation Savannah and throughout the Border War until 1989.

The ideal addition to any 1980s South African Militaria collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking memorabilia associated with a elite Unit.
