Using your SD PVR Decoder
The PVR offers subscribers the following features:
- 80 hours of recording capacity on the HDD
- Dual View functionality with the ability to record and playback in both environments, provided there are no recording conflicts
- The ability to watch two different programmes in two different environments with two buffer recordings, while simultaneously recording a completely different programme
- The ability to pause live TV and recordings, just like on DVD players
- The ability to fast forward, pause and rewind recorded content
- Instant replay to repeat a moment in the recorded content
- Slow Motion to capture all the elements of a scene
- Bookmarks which allow the viewer to mark special spots in a recording
- Easy recording functionality
- Automatic RWD / FFWD
Pausing, fast forwarding, rewinding and slow motion, commonly referred to as Trick Modes
Hard Disk Drive
- The PVR has a built in hard disk drive (HDD) that stores audio/video content and data information.
- The inclusion of the HDD makes the PVR heavier, and has a fan to ensure that the hard drive does not overheat.
- The PVR produces audible noises, especially at night when there is less background noise to cover the sound of the fan and the HDD booting up.
- The HDD has a recording capacity of 80 hours.
- The recordings can be stored on the hard drive until deleted.
PVR Front Panel
Although the front panel of the PVR looks similar to the Dual View decoder, there are distinct differences
- The PVR has fewer buttons, and therefore limited functionality is accessible from the front panel
- Aside from the normal functionality of changing channels and adjusting the volume, it is also possible to play and pause via the front panel
- Pressing the P+ and V- buttons simultaneously will mute the volume, while pressing the P- and V+ buttons simultaneously will reset the PVR decoder.
- The USB (Universal Serial Bus) device port will be used for future development.

When the fixed audio outputs are used, the volume level
cannot be changed using V+, V- and Mute on the PVR.

- Both TV1 and TV 2 can be connected via RCAs or RF cables
- RF ports are now in the form of screw-in ports (F-type adaptors are supplied)
- A Twin LNB is required to allow full access to all PVR functionality and programming
- The TV2 RCA connections offer only fixed audio output
- The optical digital audio port is used in conjunction with home theatre systems
