23 March 1881 is the day the 1st Boer War officially ended.  This is an original Cape Times newspaper from that day.  Interesting articles includes the announcement of a 48 hour armistice and that a meeting is to take place "today" between Sir E Wood and "insurgent leaders" to decide on a peace agreement.  Also very interesting letters to the editors which are highly critical of any plan to give any land or independence to the "farmers".

This paper is 100 percent authentic.  Despite the tears on the binding the paper is in very good condition and durable.

We do combine postage (to reduce postage costs) for multiple purchases sent in the same package. Be sure to check out my other Auctions/BIN by clicking www.bidorbuy.co.za/seller/1064074/rmckay
