An EXCELLENT example of a Exquisite , Mid-20th Century Chinese Red Jasper Stone Tiger Seal & Ceramic Container of Babao Paste. This Set appears to be in a well-preserved state , with highly detailed Relief on both Figural Tiger Talisman & engraved Seal impression. Surface appearance is unspoiled, expressing good colour. Evidence of slight handling is visible on surface.
The Tiger is associated with Strength, Bravery & Respect amongst the figures of the Chinese Zodiac - considered the Lord of Animals. The ceramic container of Babao Paste is still moist and can be used to make Seal impressions. This substance was refined and produced in 1673 - with the recipe considered of utmost secrecy.
