An EXQUISITE Example of a Late 19th Century, Qing Chinese Silver Finger Guard Brooch inlaid with Ruby & Sapphire. This Rare and ornate piece has been fashioned into a Brooch , from an original Chinese Courtier Ladies' Finger Guard. A symbol of wealth and prestige  - Finger Guards were fashioned from Silver and other precious metals. This fine specimen comprises of intricate filigree work, rendered in a floral pattern throughout. The Brooch has been adorned with a Ruby , a Sapphire , a Pink Tourmaline, 2 Green Jade Stones & 2 Pearls.  Piece has been marked for 'SILVER' on the reverse.
