The USA Mint will mint and issue 4 Presidential $1 coins per year, starting with the first President George Washington. A total of 38 Presidents will be honored from 2007 to 2016.OBVERSE - The obverse has the portrait and the inscriptions : George Washington / John Adams / Thomas Jefferson / James Madison at the top and 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th President 1789 - 1797 / 1797 - 1801 / 1801 - 1809 / 1809 - 1817 at the bottom.
