Sky lanterns are also known as wish lanterns, chinese lanterns, wedding lanterns, sky balloons, ufo balloons, khom loi, khom foi, sky candle, flying lanterns, heavenly lanterns.Â
Providing that you follow a few straightforward rules you will have enormous fun with them:
- They should not be released in more than 5 mph of wind - if the wind is too strong the hot air can be blown out of the sky lantern causing the lantern to fall rather than rise in the sky.
- For the very best effect you should launch your lantern when the air is still, dry and dark outside.
- They should not be released near a main road , trees, buildings, or within 2 miles of an operational air strip.
- Be patient, do not attempt to throw the skylantern up into the air, wait until you can feel it tugging away from your hands, allow more time if unsure.Â
- As the product produces a naked flame, sky lanterns should not be released by children (or people that have had too much to drink, or who are smoking!)Â Â Â
