Providing that you follow a few straightforward rules you will have enormous fun with them:

They should not be released in more than 5 mph of wind - if the wind is too strong the hot air can be blown out of the sky lantern causing the lantern to fall rather than rise in the sky.
For the very best effect you should launch your lantern when the air is still, dry and dark outside.
They should not be released near a main road , trees, buildings, or within 2 miles of an operational air strip.
Be patient, do not attempt to throw the skylantern up into the air, wait until you can feel it tugging away from your hands,Â allow more time if unsure.Â
As the product produces a naked flame, sky lanterns should not be released by children (or people that have had too much to drink, or who are smoking!)Â Â Â
