"HENRI MATISSE RHYTHM AND MEANING" BY FEDERICO FRESCHI. SOFTCOVER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, 208 PAGES, NO INSCRIPTIONS OR NAMES.
French artist Henri Matisse is known worldwide as the reference for Modernist art. For the first time ever, a wide selection of his work will be exhibited in South Africa at this blockbuster exhibition. A number of paintings, drawings, collages and prints covering all the dominant themes in the artists body of work, from his early Fauvist years, through his interest in exoticism and orientalism, to the paper cut-outs that he produced in the last years of his life, will be on display as well as all 20 prints from Matisse's famous 1947 collection Jazz. The exhibition is curated by Patrice Deparpe, from the Musée Matisse in France, a gallery which was established by Matisse himself, and Professor Federico Freschi from the University of Johannesburg's Art, Design and Architecture faculty.
