Own a piece of South African history. The famous and influential Sammy Marks, best known for the world-famous Sammy Marks Tickey, ordered 240 1898 pennies for his private collection. These coins were preserved in their original packaging, and Marks declared in his will in 1908 that the coins were not to be sold for 100 years. In 2008 these pennies were removed from their packaging for the first time.

The coin for sale is graded by NGC at MS64RB, meaning it is a mint state coin which still has the majority of its original copper-red colouring intact.
