An EXCELLENT example of Iraq War, Royal Navy 849 Squadron Flight Lieutenant Insignia.  This lot appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Nomenclature present.

The 849 Squadron of the Royal Navy, participated in duties during the Iraq War (2003-2011). The Unit was part of the Naval Fleet Air Arm - and was early warning response formation. The Squadron flew Sea King Helicopters from 1982 - 2018. Decommissioned on 21 April 2020.
