Rare 'MINTON & BOYLE' 'FELSPAR PORCELAIN' Queens Pattern Bowl/Plate (1836-1841)
This rare, lovely, shallow antique bowl or dish is in amazing condition for its age. It was made in England during the 'Minton & Boyle' partnership, which only lasted four years (1836-1841). The dish has been beautifully hand painted in rich colours, reds, greens and yellows against a white and printed cobalt blue background, sometimes referred to as the 'Queens Pattern'. The back is stamped with the 'M&B FELSPAR PORCELAIN' blue mark underglaze, and the patternNo.'3428' hand written in red. The dish measures 20,3cm in diameter, with a shallow depth of 2,7cm and has a lovely weight of 405g. A lovely piece, with a rare mark, and very rare in this condition. A piece in the same pattern can be seen here in the 'Victoria & Albert' Museum collection.
