"MYSTERY" VERY OLD ANTIQUE LADLE
.jpg)

This antique ladle has me stumped. Nobody could help me determine its origin; it seems nobody knows
whether it is plated or silver, nobody is sure what the markings stand for. Fact is, it is a mystery ladle.
The mystery deepens because instead of a lion (for silver) there is a beaver.
I therefore offer this very old ladle as is. If it is plated there is absolutely NO plating coming off which makes
me wonder what metal it is. The markings have remained a mystery for a very long time and nobody
has ever been able to establish beyond a reasonable doubt what its origin is.
Some have suggested it could even be Canadian because the beaver is Canada's national symbol
(I thought it was the maple leaf). Fact is, I do not know much beyond what I see and touch.
I can only tell you that it is very old, in good condition and if it is plated there is NO signs of plating wear.
It weighs 161 gm and it measures approximately 33 cm long. The handle has a typical violin shape
with an English finish. (If you know more about this item , please let me know.)
