'n Paw Paw Vir My Darling is 'n greep uit die lewe van die Beeslaer-familie van Frik Du Preezstraat 24, Damnville wat afspeel in 2003, hul lief en leed gesien deur die o van hul 'pavement special' hond, Tsjaka wat die hoofkarakter in die storie is.
Die Beeslaers is verteenwoordigend van die blanke Afrikaner wat post-1994 'n eksistensiele verwarring beleef, wat alhoewel goeie voornemens, telkens in 'n slaggat trap in hul pogings om aan te pas by 'n nuwe politieke bestel, ekonomiese uitdagings en sosiale kwessies.
