SCARCE ORIGINAL RHODESIAN AIR FORCE RHODESIA SHOULDER TITLE FROM THE BUSH WAR ERA

An excellent original Rhodesian Air Force (RhAF) embroidered shoulder title, catalogue/reference C469, from the post-Royal Rhodesian Air Force period.

The title features the word RHODESIA prominently embroidered in light silver-grey thread on a dark blue/black curved cloth backing, surrounded by a matching embroidered border.

This is the Rhodesian Air Force, not Royal Rhodesian Air Force, period insignia. The distinction is important: following Rhodesia becoming a republic in 1970, the Royal designation was dropped and the service became the Rhodesian Air Force, which continued until 1980. 

The reverse is particularly interesting and retains its original period backing/interfacing, together with age, staining and traces consistent with previous uniform attachment. I would leave the reverse completely untouchedthese characteristics add to the pieces period appearance.
