An exquisite example of Second World War (1939-1945) Trench Art , as produced by a British soldier serving in the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) during the North African campaign. The small Brass plate has been hammered and fashioned from the base of an unknown calibre Ordinance shell casing. 

A detailed and aesthetically pleasing engraving of the Royal Army Service Corps has been rendered with precision and care. The legend : " SOUVENIR OF EGYPT " appears on the upper rim , followed by the date : "1942" - indicating the correct period of hostilities.
