An EXCELLENT example of an ORIGINAL German Second World War (1939-1945) M40 Combat Steel Helmet as issued to all members of the Wehrmacht during the conflict. This sought after Large size Helmet , retains the leather liner and chin-strap configuration ; held in place by a zinc coated steel headband.

Produced by the manufacturer Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerk AG - this piece features the iconic stamped Ventilation Grommets located above the visor.  The Liner Headband is a size 57 fitted to the Helmet Shell and was produced by Schuberth-Werk KG located in Braunschweig  , having been stamped clearly "1940". Various layers of period Camouflage paint can be seen on the Helmet surface, revealing areas of wear and displaying Green and Brown elements to the observer.
