An EXCELLENT example of an ORIGINAL 1940 Bi-Lingual (English/Afrikaans) Christmas Chocolate Tin ; as issued by the South African Committee for Gifts & Comforts to Troops serving in North Africa. The Large Tin displays the Effigy of Field-Marshall & South African Prime Minister Jan Smuts , alongside a personal message expressing gratitude to the Servicemen and women.

The original Chocolate contents are no longer present, however, the Tin remains in a presentable and aesthetically pleasing state - despite age related wear.

The ideal addition to any Second World War (1939-45) South African Militaria memorabilia collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a genuine period piece for their private assortment.
