This item is in a GOOD, USED CONDITION- Leather is supple and fastening  Buckle is present. ** Note : Securing Studs have come loose with time. **  Maker's marks & Date are present on the reverse.

A Superb example of an ORIGINAL World War II  South African .303 Calibre  5 Pocket Leather Ammunition Bandolier. This item was based on the 1903 Pattern British Leather Equipment, with the design being utilised by Colonial and Dominion Troops throughout both World Wars. It must be Noted , that due to age and general usage - that the securing brass studs have come loose from the pocket housing over time. 

A piece , such as this on offer - would have been used by South African soldiers during the Campaigns in East and North Africa ; whilst engaging Italian & German Forces respectively. Union Defence Force acceptance markings are clearly stamped on the retention band with the distinctive " U " and Broad Arrow.

The ideal addition to any Second World War (1939-1945) South African Militaria collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a genuine period piece for their private assortment.
