An EXCELLENT example of a Pre-1994 South African Police, ABS-ISD Breast Badge - as issued to serving members of Unit 3 , based in the region of Soweto. The Division: Internal Stability was formed in December 1991 from the existing Regional Riot Units , that were located throughout the Republic - and were tasked with combatting Political and Social unrest in Urban Townships & Rural Areas. The Internal Stability Units , assisted in ensuring the functional transition during the Violent interbellum period that led up to the Pre-1994 Democratic Elections.
