An EXCELLENT pairing of an early 1990s Fielddress Camouflage, South African Police (S.A.P) Lance-Sergeant Brassard & Unit 19 Pocket Flash [ No Pin ] . The Internal Stability Division/ Afdeling Binneland Stabiliteit - was formed in late 1991 in order to combat political violence and national unrest. ABS-ISD 19 , based in Pretoria- was the National Response Unit sent to areas of severe instability.

The Brassard has been privately augmented by the Original owner , from that of Full-Sergeant , with removal of the Castle Insignia. A common practice - before production of a dedicated L/Sgt. Brassard.

These items would have been worn as part of the ABS-ISD Camouflage attire from 1991 - 1994 ; afterwhich the uniform and Insignia was recalled.

The ideal addition to any pre-1994 South African Police / Militaria Rank and Insignia collection or display.
