Cast Iron Money Box of Lichfield Cathedral by Chamberlain & Hill, England
On offer this very RARE and Collectible cast iron money box of Lichfield Cathedral by Chamberlain & Hill, England marked with "RD 482034" on the back of one of the 3 spires. I am told that this registration number dates to "1906", though could not find evidence of this in my research. Also marked with the rd no on the inside as well as "C&B". Hand etched underneath the money box where a feint "TTB" can be seen. It stands 17cm tall, 8.5cm wide and 5cm from front to back. I have only once seen a money box similar to this one come up for sale and it was in 2004 where it was then valued at R1800 - R2200. It comes apart be unscrewing the center screw. In really fine condition with no damage to report.
Fantastic RARE Find for the Collector!!!
