1960's Gunston Cannon Bookends (4.5kg)

On offer this Superb Find! - A Pair of 1960's Gunston Cannon Bookends, the cannons out of solid brass, expertly crafted with the inner sections of the wheels out of wood. The cannon sections movable in that they can be maneuvered up or down. The dark wood bookends stand 24cm tall, 19cm broad and 20cm wide. Apart from a few cracks in the wood on the inside of the wheels (I suspect this happened during manufacture and mentioned for accuracy sake), a few minor scratches on the wooden backing of one bookend, these bookends are in very good condition. Some minor furniture polish residue along the bases that can quite easily be cleaned off. Solid and sturdy, with a combined weight of 4.5kg. This set comes ex-stock of a famous antique shop in Durban, run for generations by the family, but sadly had to close doors recently due to the ill health of it's owner. Pasted below the retail tag, where this item was priced at R2985.
