An EXCELLENT example of a RARE : 1902 -1913  , Northern District Mounted Rifles Slouch Hat Badge with retention pin. This piece remains in a well preserved state. The Northern District Mounted Rifles were formed in late 1902 , in Vryheid and comprised of members from various Regular & Colonial Units who had served during the Anglo-Boer War. This Regiment participated in offensive action during the Bambatha Rebellion of 1906 before eventual disbanding in 1913 , and amalgamation into the Union Defence Force.

The ideal addition to any RARE and sought after Inter-War South African Military Insignia collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique piece for their assortment.
