An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, 1936 Italian Ethiopian Campaign, 1870/87 Vetterli Corpo d'Eritreo Bayonet w/ Scabbard. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on obverse. All insignia/ stamping marks present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Blade has been shortened for usage with the M1891 Carcano Rifle , being issued to Eritrean Askari Troops during the Ethiopian Campaign (1936).
The Vetterli Bayonets were reconditioned and utilised largely by Colonial Forces in overseas Italian territories.
