The Colonel - also known , as Arthur Selwyn Hickman was the Author of the 1960 Book Entitled : " Men Who Made Rhodesia: A Register of Those Who Served in the British South Africa Police" ; whilst also being the Father of famous Rhodesian Light Infantry Commanding Officer during the Rhodesian Bush War : Lieutenant-General John Selwyn Varcoe Hickman MC , MFC , OLM & CLM.
Colonel Hickman, was recipient of the following Awards during his Service with the British South Africa Police: MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) as well as , the Queen's Police Medal for Gallantry & Distinguished Service.
