An EXCELLENT example of RARE , 1967 Dr. Chris Barnard & Heart Team Press-Release Photographs. This assortment appears to be in a VF state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All imagery present.Minimal Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Surface gloss finish is intact- all necessary Press stamps & approval markings evident on reverse. 

This Lot consists of 3 x Large Original Photographs , depicting the participants of the World's first successful human heart transplant. Dr. Chris Barnard was born in Beaufort-West in the Cape Province in 1922 . He became the first cardiac surgeon to successfully perform an operation on 3 Dec. 1967 - in which the heart of Denise Darvall ( donor) was transplanted to recipient, Louis Washkansky. A second procedure was also conducted, in which Mr. Philip Blaiberg received a transplant at Groote Schuur Hospital.
