Composite Grip remains complete with spring-lock mechanism. Steel Scabbard is present. Manufacturers marks is present yet faded. Blade appears sharpened.

An EXCELLENT example of, 1970s RAF Pilot's Release/ Survival Gravity Knife w/ Steel Scabbard. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with Blade intact and handle complete. All markings / Military Nomenclature present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Knife secures well within Scabbard housing , spring-lock mechanism engages well and retains functionality. Blade appears with a cutting edge- handle with caution! 

This piece is exceptionally difficult to obtain, as once issued , many personnel opted to retain such knives for personal usage. The MK 3 Gravity Knife , also attained notoriety as a preferred combat knife for use by Operators from the Special Air Service (SAS).  The 1980 SAS Operation Nimrod action, at the Iranian Embassy - featured personnel utilizing the MK3 Model during the hostage rescue mission. 

The ideal addition to any NATO Cold War Era Military  Knife collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
