An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1980s SADF Prototype 6 Reconnaissance Regiment Insignia Unit Flash. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Pins Intact. Lucite layer has not been applied to surface - piece is incomplete/ unfinished.

The item , represents a Prototype Unit Flash , for the proposed 6 Reconnaissance Regiment 'Recce' that was to be Commissioned post-1980. This Unit was never officially recognized, and was intended to be staffed by former members of the Rhodesian Special Air Service & Selous Scouts. 

The ideal addition to any SADF/ Reconnaissance Regiment Border War Era Insignia collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
