An EXCELLENT example of RARE  Border War, 1980s SADF 11 S.A.I  Lucite Unit Flash  Pair. This set appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Pins Intact at rear. Lucite will display signs of wear commensurate with age.

The 11 South African Infantry ( 11 SAI) were a Counter-Insurgency Training Unit based near the South African Border with Mozambique & Swaziland. Personnel utilised the training facility in preparation for deployment to the Operational Area of SWA/ Angola. 

This Unit was decommissioned in 1997 , as part of the SA National Defence Force rationalization measures of the late 1990s. 

The ideal addition to any SADF/ SWATF  Border War Era Insignia collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
