ORIGIN : Messina , Limpopo Province. South Africa

MINERAL CATEGORY : Ajoite Quartz ( Minor ore of Copper )

DIMENSIONS: 21cm x 14cm x 7cm

WEIGHT : 3,1 kg

An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, large South African Ajoite Quartz Mineral Specimen. This piece has been obtained from the defunct Messina Copper Mines in Limpopo Province and has been subject to lapidary. The crystal matrix consists of bladed Prismatic crystals embedded in a Quartz structure, and is formed from the oxidation of secondary minerals in Copper-rich deposits. This particular specimen is characterized by multiple internal elongated blue prisms - and visible blue phantom inclusions (also known as clouds). The blue pigmentation permeates both the matrix and exterior cementation , producing a beautiful contrast between the crystal and surrounding rock material.

The ideal addition to any Rare Mineral & Gemstone Specimen collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a well preserved and aesthetically pleasing piece.
