( RARE ) Paul Kruger Playing cards . Still Sealed !!!! Mint Condition!
The pack on auction in still sealed with a kind of rice paper ( see images )
This is an unopened pack of South African playing cards (54) issued in 1961 when South Africa became a Republic. It's non standard, in that the traditional Hearts, Spades, Clubs and Diamonds have been replaced by traditional Afrikaner symbols i.e. a Wagon Wheel, a Tent Peg, Field Shoe, and a Powder Horn. The Ace, King, Queen and Jack have been replaced by images of a Boer (farmer), Boer woman (with traditional bonnet), Kruger himself, and a figher/burgher. I have borrowed images from an open pack .... this auction is for the unopened pack, still in original cellophane paper. The front of the pack is an image of Paul Kruger, and the reverse is an image of the Voortrekker Monument.
